Toxic reaction

In contact with a contact lens, some pharmacological agents or preservatives accumulate and cause a toxic reaction (for example the formation of the keratopathy, which is reflected on the cornea).

There may be some amount of eye drops left under the contact lens, which can cause toxic reaction as well.

Throughout treatment, contact lenses must be discontinued.
