Swelling of contact lenses
Swelling of the material of contact lenses is increased by the compound MHP – 3– methoxy-2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate.
Swelling is important for hydrogel contact lenses, where the oxygen permeability is ensured by sufficient amount of water in the material.
The use of any agents other than solutions may cause eye irritation and undue swelling of contact lenses.
