Continuous contact lenses
These lenses can be worn without removing them at night (generally for a duration of 30 days and 29 nights). Currently, a new generation of soft contact lenses uses the latest material silicone-hydrogel. Oxygen is released to the cornea through siloxane chains, which have much higher oxygen permeability than water.
Extended (occasional sleep with contact lenses) and continuous wear of contact lenses should always be done with regular consultation with an optician and the lenses maintained thorough cleaning.
