Convex lens (clutch) is used for correction of farsightedness. It changes the parallel beam to the convergent beam after passing through the optical system.

In the farsighted eye, ocular lens is not enough for looking at nearby objects. Light rays are not sufficiently folded and therefore intersect behind the retina.
