Amblyopia
Amblyopia or lazy eye represents the diminishing of visual acuity of the eye without visible signs of eye disease. It is caused by the absence of a visual stimulation in the critical period of vision development (childhood).
Amblyopia can be caused by different eye diseases (eg. Strabismus, refractive defects and congenital cataract).
An eye with amblyopia which is corrected, even with the best tools, is unable to achieve the same visual acuity as a completely healthy eye. Amblyopia could mean partial or complete absence of iris.- aniridia.
