How to select parameters?
Power (PWR/SPH)
Power or sphere refers to the refractive power of the contact lens. Look for a plus (+) or minus (-) sign. Note that an equals sign (=) may be used in place of a minus sign.
- dioptres are for problems with near vision (far-sightedness)
+ dioptres are for problems with distance vision (near-sightedness)
Curvature (BC)
The base curve describes the curvature of the contact lens surface, i.e. how well the lens fits the shape of your eye.
Diameter (DIA)
The diameter is the width of the contact lens (measured in millimeters). It is not recommended to select a new diameter size without first consulting your optician. Diameter impacts the fit, comfort and functionality of your lenses.
Cylinder (CYL)
The cylinder measurement is used for the correction of astigmatism. It is a negative value that corrects curvature of the cornea.
Cylinder Axis (AX)
The cylinder axis measurement is used for the correction of astigmatism. The value ranges from 0° - 180° and determines the exact position of corneal curvature.
Addition (ADD)
Addition is the difference between the dioptric value for distance vision and the dioptric value for near vision. It indicates the magnifying power in multifocal lenses.

How long can you wear DAILIES Total 1?
Total 1 are one day single-use lenses. You can put a fresh pair on in the morning and discard them in the evening. According to Alcon, these lenses can be comfortably worn for up to 16 hours.
What happens if you wear daily contacts for more than a day?
We strongly advise against wearing daily disposable lenses for more than one day. Once worn, daily contact lenses become a veritable breeding ground for bacteria, and they can’t be disinfected. If placed back on the eye, they can cause irritation and infection.
Can you sleep in DAILIES Total 1?
No, you can’t sleep in DAILIES Total contacts. Daily lenses are strictly for daily use. If you wish to try contact lenses that you can sleep in, consult with your specialist to get a prescription for extended wear lenses.
DAILIES Total 1 vs Acuvue Oasys 1-Day: Which is better?
DAILIES Total 1 by Alcon and Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with Hydraluxe by Johnson & Johnson are daily disposable lenses made of silicone hydrogel. They both feature a high oxygen transmissibility (156 Dk/t for Total 1 and 121 Dk/t for 1-Day Acuvue), a balanced water content and a smooth surface that makes them easy to insert and comfortable to wear all day long. Acuvue lenses are also equipped with a UV filter, while DAILIES Total aren’t.

What is the difference between DAILIES Total 1 30-pack, 90-pack, and 180-pack?
